Peter George Behrens SR., 73 of Plattekill, New York, entered into rest peacefully on July 8, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on February 24, 1943, the son of John and Helen (Ruger) Behrens in Montgomery New York. Peter was a contractor and lived most of his life in this area. Peter met his soulmate Betty who predeceased him in 2013, they were married 49 years. On their first date he had her name tattooed on his arm, he said that day "she will be my wife". They had 4 children, daughters Sheila and husband Rick Polemeni (Jennifer Santiago, Richard And Nicholas Polemeni), Kim and husband Ruben Cotto (Ruben and Skye) sons Peter Jr (Dietrich), Michael and wife KrisAnn ( Shianne, Mikayla, and Michael Jr); great-grandchildren, Savannah, Dirago and Bentley Santiago and Chase Polemeni.His siblings are Helene of Texas and Ray of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by siblings: John, Benny, Billy, Ardele and Rosie. Peter served in the US Army Special Forces during Vietnam War. Dad will be remembered as that fun, life loving dad/grandpa/uncle who left lasting memories for everyone. He sang in a church choir, played softball most of his life, roller skating competitions (Rubber Legs). He loved riding his Harley any time of the year. He loved his Yorkie Peanut who found a new loving home with his nephew Ray Roy. Our Dads legacy of hard work, respect, honesty and the love of family that you will do anything for, will live on through us. His grandchildren were the light of his life every time he spoke to them or saw them they would light up his life! Services to honor the passing of Dad will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh NY.
