Obituary

Peter C. LeRose, a retired Manager for IBM and lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, September 24, 2015. He was 96. Son of the late Constantine and Desolina (Bedetti) LeRose, he was born March 10, 1919 in Newburgh. He was married to the late Anna LeRose and the late Frances (Raszcewski) LeRose. Peter proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army during WWII, serving in the South Pacific theatre in Sipan, Guam and the Philippines. He was a parishioner and served as usher in Sacred Heart Church, served as Jr. Vice Commander for VFW Post 1161, was a charter member and officer for the Catholic War Veterans Post 386, was a member of New Windsor Senior Citizens, and a cherished member of the Friday Morning Breakfast Club of Catholic War Veterans. He was a great teacher, gardener, cook, and loved to dance and golf. He was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Peter F. LeRose and Jean A. LeRose of Wallkill; his grandchildren, Peter A. LeRose and Christine LeRose; nieces and nephews Alex, Jean, Anthony and John Angelo and their children and grandchildren, Delores, Scott, Donald and LeeAnn Wilkinson and their children and grandchildren, Francis, Margo, Barney, Christopher, Alexander, Steven and Keith Bedetti and their children and grandchildren, William and Linda Hudig and their children and grandchildren, William, Robert and Henry and their spouses and children, Edward and Marianne Mitchell and their spouses, and special friend Freda Close. In addition to his spouses Anna and Frances, he was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Angelo, Louise Donahue, Clara (Hudig) Messina, Isabel Rapp, and Frank Bedetti and his wife Mary. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28 from 5-8 pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, September 29 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial with military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations on Peter's behalf may be sent to Catholic War Veterans Post 386, PO Box 4602, New Windsor, NY 12553.
