Rachael Simon, 95, of Newburgh, NY entered into rest on September 10, 2026, at home with her family.

Rachael was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the matriarch of her family. Her greatest joy in life was being in a room full of family, friends, and laughter. Every Sunday, she loved cooking for her family and talking around the kitchen table. Her home was a place full of unconditional love, and her family and friends were always welcome. Rachael attended Abraham Lincoln High School and upon graduation, worked at Donnelly Advertising Agency in Manhattan. She met her husband, Martin Simon Jr., at a USO dance and they were married on June 4, 1955 at Our Lady of Solace Church. They lived in Brooklyn, NY and Great Barrington, MA before settling in Newburgh, NY where they raised their children and ran a family business. Rachael went on to work at Caldor in Vails Gate for 22 years and later worked at Adam’s Fairacre Farms before her retirement.

Rachael is pre-deceased by her husband, her many cousins, and her loving friends.
