Ramon A. Martinez

Ramon "Lolo" Martinez, 78, of Newburgh passed away on May 7th, 2024. He was born on August 27th, 1945, in Camuy, Puerto Rico. Ramon had a long career at the Department of Public Works in the City of Newburgh, retiring after 28 years of service. He is well known and loved by many in his community. Ramon loved gardening, spending time with his loved ones, and taking the occasional trip to the casino. He is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Maria Martinez and their three children Marisol Martinez, Ramon Martinez and spouse Marlene Cintron, and Minerva Rios and spouse Alan Rios. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Michael Martinez, Geraldo Rivera, Nicholas Rivera, and Minerva Rivera and spouse Wilson Matamoros. He has two great granddaughters, Giavanna Rose and Svea Nicole.

Ramon passed away on May 7th, 2024. He was strong, fearless, and with the support of his family, he had the power to fight but unfortunately lost his battle with his medical condition. We will miss him dearly.

Viewing will be held on Monday, May 13th, 2024, 4:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550. Ramón trabajó para el Departamento de Obras Públicas de Newburgh por mas de 28 años. Fue muy conocido y querido por muchos en su comunidad. Ramón le encantaba la jardinería, pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos y pasiando al los casino. Le sobre viven su esposa de 56 años, María Martínez y sus tres hijos Marisol Martínez, Ramón Martínez y su esposa Marlene Cintrón, y Minerva Ríos y su esposo Alan Ríos. También le sobreviven sus cuatro nietos, Michael Martinez, Geraldo Rivera, Nicholas Rivera y Minerva Rivera y su esposo Wilson Matamoros. Tiene dos bisnietas, Giavanna Rose y Svea Nicole.

Ramón fallecio el 7 de Mayo, 2024, después de una larga batalla contra la insuficiencia renal y otras afecciones médicas. Era fuerte, valiente y con el apoyo de su familia tuvo el poder de luchar pero lamentablemente perdió su batalla. Loes vamos a extrañar mucho.

El velorio se celebrara el 13 de mayo de 2024 a las 4:00 p.m. en Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.
