Raymond J.
Hamilton

Raymond Joseph Hamilton
September 15, 1950 ~ March 7, 2026
Raymond "Ray" Hamilton, 75, of Clintondale, New York, was born on September 15, 1950 at Fort Devens Army Base in Massachusetts and passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, humor, and unwavering devotion.
Ray attended Dover Plains High School in Dover Plains, New York, where he was a proud three‑sport athlete, playing baseball, football, and basketball. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed in South Korea, he met the love of his life, Ok Sun "Kim" Hamilton. Their connection was instant and lifelong. They married and returned to the United States, beginning a partnership that lasted 54 wonderful years.
With the support of the GI Bill, Ray became the first in his family to earn a college degree. He attended Dutchess Community College and later graduated from Marist College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. His professional life culminated in his role as Chief Financial Officer of the Jarvie Commonweal Service, where he served with dedication until his retirement in 2015.
Ray and Kim built a loving family together. He was a devoted father to his son, Frederick Hamilton and his wife Dorothy, and to his daughter, Angela Ellis and her husband Brian. He was a deeply proud grandfather to Derek, Jordyn, Charlotte, and Dakota, each of whom brought him immense joy. Ray is also survived by his siblings Harry Hamilton and Joan Hamilton. He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Hamilton Jr. and Beatrice Hamilton, and by his sister, Sandra Hamilton.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Ray especially loved baseball and was a dedicated New York Yankees fan. But his greatest joy came from simply being with the people he loved. His warmth, hospitality, and quick wit made everyone feel instantly at ease; he always had a joke or a playful remark ready to bring a smile.
Ray's faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted Christian, he was an active member of Leptondale Bible Church for more than 40 years. He served in many leadership roles—including Elder, Deacon, and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees—and deeply valued the friendships and fellowship he found within his church family.
Raymond Hamilton will be remembered for his loving heart, joyful humor, steady faith, and the deep love he held for his family. His memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Viewing will be held on March 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a service at 12:00 noon at Leptondale Bible Church, 1771 NY‑300, Newburgh, NY 12550. He will be laid to rest at the Ulster County Veterans Cemetery.
