Richard William “Archie” Argenio died on September 6, 2026, in Beacon, New York. He was born on April 25, 1945, in Newburgh, New York, to William Argenio and Doris Argenio, née Sholes.

On September 18, 2005, he married Laura Argenio. He is remembered by his children from a previous marriage, Michael Argenio, Cathy Argenio, and Scott Argenio, and by his stepchildren with Laura Argenio, Jason Bautista, Phillip Bautista, and Gina Bautista.

Richard was predeceased by his previous wife, Patricia “Pat” Argenio.

Mr. Argenio worked as a school bus driver for West Point Tours. His work formed an important part of his life, and he will be remembered as a man whose presence was marked by kindness and warmth. He liked to read, and those who knew him knew him as a happy soul. His wonderful smile had a way of brightening the day for others.

Richard Argenio’s life was rooted in family, steady work, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy. He leaves behind the memory of a kind man whose gentle nature and cheerful spirit made a lasting impression on those around him.

He will be remembered with love and appreciation by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY.

A funeral service will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church at 11:00am Friday, September 11th located at 105 Grand Street, Newburgh, NY.

A burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery located at 5468 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY.
