Obituary

Lt. Col. Richard Gerald Earle Jr.

October 30, 1933 ~ June 3, 2024

Newburgh, NY

LtCol Richard G Earle Jr. (lovingly known to his friends as Dick)
peacefully passed away at his home on 3 June 2024 at 90 years old after
having a wonderful day out and about doing what he loved with his family.

He is survived by his daughter Debra Earle Wright and son Richard Earle
III, his grandchildren Taylor Warren, Chandler Wright, Richard Earle IV and
Austin Earle, and his great grandson, River Warren.

Dick was a hardworking, intelligent, leader, who did not hesitate to help
anyone in need. He was an outstating husband, dad, and friend and was loved
for his generous heart and 'get it done' attitude.

LtCol Earle served 3 tours in Vietnam, was a commander of an Army Special
Operations battalion and received two Bronze Stars, a Silver Star, and a
Purple Heart. He has always said, 'I would do it again'.  In the last years
of his Army career, he was assigned to West Point as XO at Stewart Field,
then a Liaison Officer and the Cadet Activities Officer; and finally retired
at Fort Meade Maryland.

Dick enjoyed his retirement as the captain of his boat Crafty Lady, so
named after his loving wife Dorothy, who was a talented artist. He enjoyed
many years on the board of directors for the West Point Yacht Club and spent
many years as the Yacht Club Commodore. He loved skiing, golfing, and
socializing with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all; but we will surely see him again in
Heaven.
