Richard J. Mandia

Richard John Mandia, 84, of Pinehurst, NC passed away peacefully in his home on April 22, 2024.

Richard was born on November 26, 1939 in Queens, NY to Samuel and Sophie Mandia. He graduated from Marlboro High School where he excelled as a tremendous multi-sport athlete before enlisting in the US Army and serving his country until he was honorably discharged. Richard went on to achieve advanced degrees including a Masters of Science and ultimately earning his PhD. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Cheryl Ann Mandia, children Christie Mandia, Richard Mandia Jr (Maria), Frederick Mandia (Kristin), Kevin Mandia, Jennifer Arnold (Brian), and Thomas Mason (Jeanine), brother Samuel Mandia Jr. (Mary), sister Linda Fogarty, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 4 at St. Mary's Church in Marlboro at 11:30 AM, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery.
