Rina L. Bozzone

Rina L. Bozzone, 92, entered into rest peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by family members on March 1, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1931 in Newark, NJ to the late John and Angelina (Ma & Pa) Bertero. She was raised and lived in Cornwall, NY, moving to the Town of Newburgh in 2019.
Rina was predeceased by her son, Richard, who passed in March 2022; brothers, John, Richard, and Carl; and sister, Margaret. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Fanning and husband, Stephen; sister, Julia Vecchio; and four grandchildren: Adam Fanning and his fiancé Randi Quick and her son Cameron, Ian Fanning and his wife Julie and Julie's daughters Leah and Mia, Vielka Bozzone and Aja Bozzone; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Rae Fanning; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rina enjoyed attending daily Mass, and was a true prayer warrior for anyone who needed prayer intentions. She also enjoyed travelling, dancing, art class at theNewburgh Rec Center, dining out, and just about any activity that got her out of the house. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh.
The family would like to thank the entire Hospice team of Orange and Sullivan for the excellent caregiven to Rina, as well as her aides, Sonia, Mary, Erica, and Gertie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall on Friday, March 10 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Friary, 180 South St., Newburgh, NY 12550; Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550; or Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate, Monroe, NY.
