Robert "Bobito" Cabrera, age 85, of Marlboro, NY passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on August 10, 1940 in Manhattan to the late Emilia (née Quiñones) and Rogelio Cabrera, and was raised in the Bronx. Robert will always be remembered and loved for his lively, joyous spirit, sense of humor, and bright smile.

Robert was strong, vibrant, and positive, and made everyone laugh until the very end. He loved playing golf, dancing to salsa music, going on trips with his family, and playing cards outside with his wife on warm summer evenings.

Days before he passed, Robert's family celebrated his 85th birthday with him at the hospital. Although he had been ill for weeks, Robert looked around at his family that day and with a smile said, "This is what it's all about." Robert's family was his world and his wife of 64 years was the center of it.

Robert is survived by his wife Carmen Olinda "Oli" Cabrera of Marlboro, NY; his daughter, Valerie LaFlore (Allan) of Liverpool, NY; his son Curt Cabrera (Mary-Erin) of Marlboro, NY; his daughter Vanessa Pucino (Richard) of Newburgh; his eight grandchildren; Mitchell Robert (his namesake), Alana, A.C., Beau, Alec, Rachel, Cade, and Emmie-Mae; along with his sisters Carmen (Ray) Krupka and Maria McCurry (Tommie); and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Robert made absolutely certain that his family knew how much he loved them, always saying farewell with his signature sendoff: "I love you more."

Loved ones may call on Tuesday August 19th at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave from 4PM to 7PM. A Prayer Service will be begin at 6:30PM.
