Robert M Gerbino, of New Windsor, NY was called to heaven on September 8, 2021 at age 34. Robert was the son of Jacqueline and Frank Gerbino, born on December 4, 1986 in Newburgh, NY. He is survived by his loving wife, Danielle Gerbino, his wife of six years (born O'Malley) and his twin daughters, Ava and Savannah (age 4). Along with his parents, Robert is survived by his siblings, Anthony Gerbino, Joseph Gerbino and Fallyn Gerbino. He also leaves his maternal grandmother Christina Pineiro, several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition he is survived by his 2 nieces, Francesca Gerbino, Valentina Gerbino and his nephew Giorgio Gerbino. He is also survived by his in-laws Jessica and Keith O'Malley and his two sisters-in-law, Kaitlyn O'Malley and Jaclin O'Malley.Robert graduated from Wallkill Sr. High School in 2005 and Hartwick College in 2010 with a dual major in Economics and Political Science. Those who knew Robert, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Robert was always the biggest personality in the room. Everyone who knew him has countless stories about him, many of which are hilarious but cannot be repeated in polite company. Robert loved his wife, Danielle, with a passion from the time they started dating in high school. Danielle was his rock. He would always tell his friends that he was blessed to have her in his life. Robert was also a loving father. He was known to brag about how intelligent his twin daughters were, and he would always joke that they were a couple of trouble makers because they were so much like him. Robert had a great sense of humor and could talk to anyone both young and old. Many, many people will remember him fondly for the laughs he gave them.In high school, Robert was a stellar football player and an all-state cornerback. His teammates referred to him as "Big Hit Bobby" because he was such a great tackler. He spent his teenage years among a close-knit circle of friends, most of whom were his football teammates. On their way to a state championship game, Robert and his friends did everything together, from lifting weights to getting into fights to making each other laugh as often as possible. These friends will always remember Robert making big plays in his number 15 Wallkill Panthers jersey. Robert was a born leader. He was a true friend to his friends--ready and willing at a moment's notice to endure a helping hand or a listening ear for the sake of friendship.Robert was an avid political debater. He had a passion for all sports especially all New York professional sports teams. He was an active member of the religious organization Church at the Bridge. He enjoyed playing golf and playing cards. He was known for his flare for fashion. He was always a sharp dresser.Most importantly, Robert was devoted to his loving parents, Frank and Jackie, and he always looked after his three younger siblings, Anthony, Joseph and Fallyn. His parents and siblings will keep him in their hearts forever. The unconditional love shared by Robert and Danielle was always evident and will live on through their children. Please join us at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh NY on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Catholic Service will be held at St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta, (formerly Sacred Heart Church), on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY, at 11:00 a.m. with a burial service to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Route 9W. Newburgh, NY. In Keeping with Robert's loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so others may live on. Robert, you will always be in our hearts and we will always love you.
