Rocco Joseph Pucino Jr. 

July 23, 1954 – June 15, 2026

Rocco Joseph Pucino Jr., 71, of New Windsor, New York, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. 

He was born in Newburgh, New York, on July 23, 1954.

Rocco was, above all, a family man. He loved his wife, his children, and his grandchildren more than anything in the world, and that love was the measure of his whole life.

A retired laborer with Laborers' Local 17, Rocco took deep pride in the work he did and the life it provided for his family. He believed in honest effort and in taking care of the people who depended on him.

One of his greatest joys in life was coaching his two sons in baseball. He treated every player like a second son, taking the time to understand each boy and learn what made him want to try harder. The lessons he taught on the field reached far beyond the game. Rocco also loved trips to Atlantic City with his wife, Geri, and his weekly golf outings with his son Brett.

For the last two years, Rocco faced Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a neurological disease that slowly took away his ability to walk and to speak. Even as it stripped away so many of life's pleasures, he fought with everything he had and never stopped finding joy in the small things. His strength through it all was a final lesson to everyone who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rocco J. Pucino Sr.; his sisters, Nancy Lugo and Patty Ticehurst; and his beloved pets, Nala and Lucy.

Rocco is survived by his wife, Geri; his son Rocco J Pucino III and wife Amanda; his daughter Erica and husband Chris; his son Brett and partner Katie; his grandchildren, Jahsenya, Krista, Kendra, Dominic, Isabella, and Ricardo; his cat Ethel; and the countless players, friends, and family who were touched by his kindness.

He will be missed immensely, but his family takes solace in knowing he is finally at peace.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 27th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, New York.
