Rodger L. Fields

July 24, 1983 ~ November 20, 2024

Rodger Lee Fields born July 24, 1983 in Atlanta, GA. Born to his mother Briget Fields, and his father Rodger Fields. He has a younger sister who he loves with his whole being Cassandra Reiss, and her daughter his wonderful, amazing and beautiful niece Oliva Reiss.

He lives his life loving the Lord Jesus Christ with his whole heart. The Lord is first in Rodger's life. Rodger has lived in different areas and countries but had finally settled down in Newburgh, NY. Where he lived with his wife of 13 years.

Unknowingly growing up in the same town as kids he reconnected with his wife back in 2007. They became very close and Rodger knowing in his heart she was the one asked her to be his. She agreed and it was the best decision either could have made for each other.

On March 30, 2012 he was so happy to be able to marry his soulmate Sophia Fields that he loved and who loved him beyond measure. A true once in a lifetime bond of love, trust, loyalty and devotion. Soulmates now and forever. A marriage through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, that not even death could tear apart.

Rodger is funny and sweet always ready to make someone else laugh and smile by either telling a good joke or story. He is kind and warm. Honest, loyal and loves with his whole heart.

He enjoys spending time with those he loves whether it is gaming with his friends or spending time hanging out and talking or sharing something funny on social media.

He loves watching anime and manga, reading books, listening and dancing to music of all kinds. He loves watching all kinds of shows from house design to NCIS, from crime shows to cooking shows. He loves action movies. His favorite series was the Ocean's 11 series.

He'd watch baseball with his wife Sophia because she loves the sport. He enjoys watching boxing, MMA, dancing and singing competitions. Card competition and a variety of other sports. He is the kind of person that would give anything a chance.

He was so very proud of becoming an uncle - Uncle RoRo as he likes to be called. He wore that title with pride and honor. To all our friends and family who had children that Rodger was blessed with the ability to care for and be around, please know he loves them all too very very much.

It was Rodger's final wishes to not have a funeral or viewing. In this manner he was very private. He would rather everyone remember him laughing and joking with you. So please do remember your last interactions with him and the joy he brought to your life and know that if he considered you a friend or family member that he loved you whole heartedly.

One of Rodger's favorite gospel songs that he would listen to whenever he needed a spiritual pick up or words of encouragement was a song called Jesus is Love. And his favorite part went like this:

Cause Jesus is love.

He won't let you down,

And I know He's mine deep down in my soul.

Jesus is love.

So please keep Rodger in your heart because he has the biggest heart of all and he is filled with joy and laughter and loves deeply and wants the very best for his family.

To his two best friends in this whole wide world Julian and James - you two have been his brothers for over 30 years. Y'all have been through ups and downs in each other's lives. He could not have had better brothers. He loves you two very very much. To Ashley - he is so happy that you have been in both his and his wife lives, and takes comfort knowing you are there for her. The council of three will remain forever strong. To Saya and Toro our fur babies that recently passed...papa is with you now as well and will give you all the treats and nom noms you could ever ask for.

No matter the time between speaking with someone it was effortless the next time you spoke again because it was like no time had passed with Rodger. He was just so easy to be around and he has the ability to create a safe places for people to be who they are judgment free. He accepts you as you are and never expected you to be different. He is joy and light in dark times. A breath of fresh air. An easy to love winter bear to his wife.

He lived his life to the fullest and honestly. On November 20, 2024 he went home to be with the Lord. He is now resting in Paradise. He walks now with other loved ones and the angels of Heaven. I know that this will not be the last time we meet. So cherish Rodger in your heart until then and remember him for who he is, was and shall always be.
