Ronald N. Russo

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ronald Nicholas Russo at the age of 82. He lived in Newburgh, New York, and passed away peacefully at home on January 6th, 2024.
Ronald was born May 9th, 1941 in the Bronx, New York. He grew up with his mother and father, Ruth and Nicholas Russo in a loving home. He served our country in the United States Navy from October 1962 until October 1964. Afterwards he was transferred for the Naval Reserve until he was honorably discharged in August 1967. At his home rests his certificate of appreciation for his service during the Vietnam War, welcoming him home. Shortly after his time in the service he worked at West Point in the DEH Operations and Maintenance Division as a Mason/Paint Foreman for many years. Ronald was passionate about fishing, volunteering his time at the American Legion in Newburgh, NY, going to the casino, doing word searches and puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends.
Married for 59 years to Theresa Russo, they shared many years of love, laughter, and happiness. He was also survived by his brother, Larry Russo, his daughter, Lori-Ann Russo with her son, - Ronald's first grandson - Ryan, and his wife Olivia and their two children - Ronald's great grandchildren - River and Autumn. Followed by his son, Richard Russo, married to Janine Russo, who then had Nicholas and Jena - Ronald's second and third grandchildren- . Ronald held much love in his heart for all of his family and the memories they had together.
The service to honor his life will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2024, at Brooks Funeral Home - 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY, 12550. Calling hours will be from 1pm - 4pm. A celebration of life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13 from 1 - 4 PM.
