It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roscoe H. Taylor Jr (76) of Newburgh, NY on October 16, 2024. Known to many as Butch or Uncle Butch.

Butch was born on November 26,1947 in Cornwall, NY to Roscoe H. Taylor Sr and Bertha M. Montgomery. At age 17 he joined the army and served with the 101st Airborne division. He fought for our country in the Vietnam war. Butch married Patricia Ann Kelly on November 9,1968 and raised five children with her. He worked as a roofer for many years among other things. Butch loved fishing on the lake, a good game of horseshoes, and an ice-cold Bud Light, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends.

Butch is survived by his children Roscoe (Vicki) Taylor III, Robert (Cheryl) Taylor, Timothy (Christine) Taylor, Thomas (Vinnie) Taylor, Dawn Taylor, his ten grandchildren Heather Taylor, Katie Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Patricia Taylor, Samantha Taylor, Taylor Crossman, Jessica Crossman, Lacey Hegarty, and a great granddaughter soon to be here, his sister Shirley Kelly, and brothers Ron Taylor and Paul Lanner. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends, and his loyal dog Ollie.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Patricia A. Taylor, parents Roscoe H. Taylor Sr and Bertha M. Montgomery, and siblings Dewey Taylor, Richard Taylor, Robert Taylor, Nancy Lazaro, Betty Ayres, Frank Gardner, and Barbara.

Visitation will be held on Monday October 21, 2024 at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh from 4PM to 7PM. A service will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at the funeral home. Military Honors and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
