Rose Marie Maneely ("Sissy"), 77, of Arkville, New York, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, at Margaretville Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 22, 1948, in Newburgh, New York, Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Blaison and Arnold Deyo Sr. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy.
She was married to Richard Maneely, who predeceased her in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory Maneely, in 2025.
She is survived by her loving siblings: brothers Arnold Deyo Jr. and David Deyo, and sisters Linda Deierlein, Dorothy Santucci, and Deborah Hannigan. She is also survived by her devoted children Donna Jefferson, John Jefferson, Timothy Maneely and his wife Cassandra, along with many stepchildren.
Rose leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Stephanie Soules, Nicole Adorno, Jennifer Conti, Isabella Maneely, Justina Jefferson, John Zachary Jefferson, Amaiya George, Nicholas Maneely, and Gregory Maneely, as well as many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A proud and dedicated community member, Rose was a Lifetime Member of the Goodwill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a distinction she held with great pride.
Rose was known for her captivating sense of humor and her uncanny ability to bring joy to those around her. Her laughter was infectious, and her warmth and wit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Always willing to help, she freely offered guidance, wisdom, and comfort. She lived life on her own terms, with strength, compassion, and an indomitable spirit that could never be diminished.
Services will be held at Brooks Funeral Home, Newburgh, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
