Sonia Maria Reyes-Sanchez, 65 of Wallkill, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the comfort of her own home. The daughter of Rafael and Edna (Sanchez) Reyes, she was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico on December 15, 1956.
She is survived by her loving companion Miguel Garcia, five caring siblings, her nine devoted children (7 Boys & 2 Girls) as well as her precious thirty-two Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren.
Family meant everything to her and she was the matriarch that held it all together. Sonia was a passionate cook and enjoyed feeding everyone. She always enjoyed crocheting and making blankets and outfits for all the new additions to the family. Sonia had a talent for singing (ran in the family)and loved to dance. She was a caring grandmother who had a very big heart for all. Her home was always filled with love and warmth.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, May 24 at 12 noon at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
