Susan A. Tansey, 71, of Walden, NY passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024 while in hospice care.
She was born in 1952 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Susan was the daughter of Rose Spagnolo Paradine and David Paradine. She attended Newburgh Free Academy and went on to earn both her bachelor's and master's degree in Accounting at Mount Saint Mary's College in Newburgh NY. Sue, with her passion and dedication went on to work in banking at Key Bank and Wallkill Valley Federal Bank. She retired from Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union as a financial advisor.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother Rose Paradine and sister Laura Paradine. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of over 50 years, Cyril R. Tansey Jr., her father David Paradine and his wife Susan, her sisters Carla Paradine, Katrina Paradine and her husband Richard, her step-siblings, Tyler and Regan, niece Erika Paradine and her friend of over 55 years Patricia Favata and her husband Al, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews as well as countless friends and family that have crossed her spirited path.
Sue was a loyal and dedicated wife, friend, sister, aunt, and godmother to those she loved. A kind soul and gentle spirit — with a fantastic laugh and a warm smile. Sue not only loved live music and vacationing on Grand Bahama Island and out west. She also loved to help others. She was generous with her time for those in need, joining charity walks and volunteering with the Lions Club in Montgomery and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was also active in raising money and awareness for the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society, a disease she battled and won. Sue was someone who was always there when you needed her. She will be missed by all those lucky enough to know her.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, February 24 from 1-4pm . In lieu of flower, donations to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in memory of Susan would be greatly appreciated.
