Susan "Mindy" Travis, 84, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, in Newburgh, New York. Born on March 11, 1942, in Ellicottville, New York, Susan lived a life deeply rooted in love for her family and the simple joys of life.

A graduate of Pine Bush High School, Susan cherished her upbringing alongside her siblings Suzanne, Ronnie, Randy, and Penny. She often shared fond memories and stories of their time together, reflecting the strong bond they shared. Family was the cornerstone of Susan’s life; she valued it above all else and was a devoted mother who would do anything for her children.

Susan found joy in hard work and took pride in her career. Among her many roles over the years, she was happiest during her time at the Orange County Coffee Shop. Her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on those she worked with and served. Outside of work, Susan had a passion for flowers and gardening. She found peace and fulfillment tending to her yard, creating beauty that reflected her vibrant spirit.

Susan is survived by her son James Travis III; daughter Melinda Vana and her husband Mark; sister Penny Brady; several nieces and nephews; and Bella, her beloved feline companion. She was predeceased by her parents Rex and Mary; siblings Suzanne, Ronnie, and Randy; brother-in-law John; and sisters-in-law Nancy and Dolores. The memory of those who preceded her remained close to Susan’s heart throughout her life.

Susan’s kindness and storytelling endeared her to all who knew her. Her legacy of love for family and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

May Susan's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
