Thomas A. Calli Jr.

September 27, 1935 ~ November 11, 2025

Thomas Anthony Calli Jr, of Newburgh, NY passed away on November 11, 2025, after a short illness at St. Luke's Hospital.  He was 90 years old.

Born on September 27, 1935, in Newburgh, NY. He was the son of Anna Mae Vernol and Thomas Anthony Calli Sr. He grew up in Newburgh, living with his grandparents, Francisco and Irene Calli.  He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1955 and joined the US Navy after graduating. He was honorably discharged in 1956.

He married the love of his life, Marie H. Denton, September 30, 1956, in St. Patrick's Church, Newburgh. Together they had two children, Anna Marie Calli and Edward A. Calli Sr.  He also cherished his grandson, Eddie Calli Jr.

He worked for Petelinz Dairy for many years, then went to work for the Newburgh Enlarged School District until he retired from Meadow Hill School as the Head Custodian.

We were honored to be able to have a surprise 90th Birthday Party for him.  He was surprised to see many family members and friends.

Family was very important to Tom.

Dad was usually the first every year to cut his lawn.  He loved being outside doing some sort of yard work.  He was a New York Yankees fan.  Thomas loved going to the casino.  Breakfast at Blazing Bagels was also something that Thomas looked forward to.  He had many friends there and was called "Pop".

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie and his parents. Also, two brothers Jerome and Louis Calli.

He also leaves behind his daughter, Anna Marie Calli, son, Edward A. Calli Sr. and his companion Loretta Moschitta and grandson, Eddie Calli Jr., He also survived by a sister, Irene Sibley and sister-in-law CeCe Calli and several nieces and nephews.

There are too many friends to mention, that were always there to help Dad when needed.  Our family will be forever grateful to everyone who has been a part of his life.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 10am at Brooks Funeral Home followed by a burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of ones choosing.
