Thomas M. "Lil" Lilly

Thomas Michael Lilly "Lil", of New Windsor, a NYPD Detective from 1986-2002, entered into rest on September 16, 2022. He passed from his hard fought battle due to his illness related from 9/11. The son of the late James "Chick" Lilly and Jean Gilmartin Lilly, he was born on August 18, 1965 in Elmhurst, Queens.

Thomas was a member of the Newburgh Elks, was an Eagle Scout, and dedicated a large amount of his time volunteering and coaching for the Cornwall football program. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his friends and loved ones.


Survivors include his brother, James Lilly (wife- Andrea); his sister Karen Moran (husband- William (Billy); nieces Theresa Lilly and Katie Moran; nephews Thomas Moran and Patrick Lilly (wife- Michelle); his Aunt Kathleen Blomberg; his loving companion Stacia VanDeree (sons Brian, Matthew and Tyler VanDeree); his German Shepherd "Lilly"; his"Brothers From Another Mother" Buddy Gannon and Ed Moran; his legal wife Justina Lilly, and nephew/son Michael Heredia.

He touched the lives of many and his friendly personality was imprinted on everyone he met. He was loved by so many and his memory will be carried on by all his loved ones. He willbe greatly missed by his large extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 21 from 1 - 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church on Thursday, September 22 at 10 AM, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
