Thomas F. Starkey, "The Stark", of New Windsor, NY, entered into rest on Monday, July 25, 2016. He was 23. Thomas was born December 29, 1992 in Newburgh. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, and served in the US Army at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was the beloved son of Linda (Lawrance) and Donald Starkey, loving brother of Donald Howard Starkey, beloved grandson of Donald George Lawrance, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Thomas had a true love for local sports, starting with New Windsor Little League and New Windsor Eagles Football. He later played for NFA Varsity Baseball and Football. He also enjoyed playing travel baseball for the New Windsor Cyclones, Orange County Reds, and Newburgh Nuclears. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, July 28 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 29 at the funeral home, with burial following in Mt. St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations in Thomas' name may be sent to Newburgh Free Academy Booster Club for the Baseball Team, 201 Fullerton Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550.
