Obituary

William P. Adams

January 19, 1947 ~ July 24, 2024

William P. Adams, 77, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on July 24, 2024 after a short and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born to the late Clinton and Marion Adams, who predeceased him.

Cars were Will's first love and vocation. If he wasn't behind the wheel of a car, he could usually be found under the hood. In high school, "Wild Bill" was known to have the fastest car on Broadway. After high school, Will proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force stationed in North Dakota before beginning his lifelong career at Texaco Research and Development Center in Glenham, NY. In his later years, Will could usually be found with one of his classic cars at a local area car show, where he collected trophies and new friends.

Spending time with family and friends was his second greatest love and nothing brought him more joy than sharing a good meal with them. He was the quintessential family man who also had a knack for making friends easily and making anyone feel like his best friend. Throughout his life Will also enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and making memories while vacationing on Chincoteague Island. He will be remembered for his stories, his welcoming nature, and unparalleled generosity.

Will is survived by; his wife, Helen, his sons William C., William Phillip II (Nicole), daughters Michelle (Rich) Combs, Stacy (Josh) Mike, Stefanie (Michael) Barley and Christine Bruno. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren; Julia, Anna, Claire, Connor, Jake, Ava, Cara, Dari, Alexa, Elle and many dear in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will take place at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, July 28 from 1 - 4 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, July 29 at 10 AM followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Will would love for you to bring your favorite car to the services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your charity of choice.
