William Bruno

William "Bill" Bruno, 88 years old, of Wallkill, New York passed peacefully and surrounded by family on April 22, 2024 in Newburgh, New York. Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 11, 1935 to Alfred and Gertrude Bruno, where he was raised with his older brother, Robert. Bill earned his GED and then joined the United States Air Force at the age of 18. He served for four years as an aircraft mechanic, and earned a National Defense Service Medal as well as a Good Conduct Medal before being honorably discharged. He worked as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines, and then went on to work for Hallmark Cards as an Account Executive until his retirement. During his life, Bill enjoyed skydiving, amateur ham radios, collecting guns and stamps, home improvement projects, and relaxing in the sun. Bill is survived by his first wife, Peggy, his children, Bill, Michael, Barbara, and Susan (Tina), and his grandchildren Kayla, Kody, Fallyn and Skylar. Bill is preceded by his brother Robert, his nephew, Bobby and his second wife, Adele. Private services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
