William B. Curtis II

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved William B. Curtis II, affectionately known as "Billy," who left this world peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of his cherished family. Born on November 12, 1970, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Billy was a beacon of kindness, humor, and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Billy was the cherished son of the late William B. Curtis and Michaele P. Curtis, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted brother, Kenneth K. Curtis, and his sister-in-law, Talina M. Curtis, of Marlboro. Billy was the proud uncle to his two adored nieces, Kierstin M. Curtis and Kailey M. Curtis, whose lives he illuminated with joy and laughter. His extended family of cousins and countless friends, who were like family to him, will forever treasure his memory.

A proud graduate of Newburgh Free Academy in 1989, Billy pursued his passion for automotive craftsmanship at the Technical Careers Institute in New Haven, CT, where he earned his certification in Automotive Body Repair and Paint. His 35-year career was a testament to his dedication and talent, specializing in painting and bringing vibrancy to each project he undertook.

Billy's love for racing was a lifelong affair. Whether it was at the Dirt Track, where he once raced his own street stock car, or supporting friends with theirs, his enthusiasm was unwavering. His interests extended to the world of radio-controlled vehicles, from boats to helicopters, and his affection for reptiles, particularly his beloved "Snoopy," a rare blue monitor, was well known. His involvement with various flying clubs allowed him to indulge in his passion for RC planes and drones, always pushing the boundaries of his hobbies.

Above all, Billy was a man of exceptional character. His willingness to help anyone in need, coupled with his infectious sense of humor, endeared him to many. Known for his generosity and the ability to bring laughter into any room, Billy's spirit was one of a kind, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.

In honoring Billy's memory, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the giving nature that Billy embodied throughout his life.

Billy's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. They find solace in the loving memories that will forever keep his spirit alive. As they say goodbye to a dear brother, uncle, and friend, they hold tightly to Billy's great soul, knowing that loving memories last forever.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 11:00am-2:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:30pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY.
