William H. "Bill" Evans, 68, of Newburgh, New York, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 14, 1957, in Newburgh, Bill was a lifelong resident of the community he loved so deeply. A dedicated and proud lifetime member of the Middle Hope Fire Department, Bill devoted countless hours in service to others, embodying the true spirit of friendship, loyalty, and selflessness.
Bill will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and passion for life — especially his love of bowling, where he spent many joyful years participating in leagues and sharing laughter with friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathi; his sons, Billy Evans and his wife Abby, and Andrew Kovalsky; and his cherished grandchildren, Henry Evans, Nick Kovalsky, and Ellie Kovalsky. Bill is also survived by his dear siblings, sister Carol Rivera and her husband Roberto, sister Colleen Corizzo and her husband Mickey, and brother Steven Evans and his wife Molly. and by his first niece, Jeannie Rivera, along with many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, and cousin Richard, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
Bill's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to live on through his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Monday, October 13th from 5pm ~ 8pm. A firematic service will be held on Monday, October 13th, at 7:30pm. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th at 11am at Brooks Funeral Home followed by a burial at Cedar Hill cemetery.
