William F. Healey

The world lost the most caring and hard-working man on December 29, 2023, at the age of 56 years.
William always put others before himself, often without any benefit to himself.
He was born in Newburgh, NY on July 29, 1967 to John "Jack" Healey and Marjorie Scriber Weintraub.
William loves his children, Heather Healey of Pine Bush, and Jack Healey of Newburgh. He also helped raise his stepson, Sonny Scott of Newburgh, of whom he was very fond. His faithful companion, Martina Marie, brought him such joy, and helped him through many hard times. William was very proud of his work with the Town of Newburgh as a heavy equipment operator, and president of the CSCA Union for many years until he retired.
William loved his family, enjoyed cooking for his loved ones, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. He was Dungeon Master for many campaigns, and competed in a Dungeons and Dragons tournament, winning first place with his character, Wolfbain, against the game's creator, Gary Gygax. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, riding snowmobiles, and playing video games. He caught a 24-inch Landlocked Salmon in the Neversink Reservoir, which was a record catch. The salmon is mounted on the wall at "The Cabin." He loved Lake George and Old Forge, and spending time in both places..
William was predeceased by his father, Jack Healey. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie and step-father, Richard Weintraub; his children; his sister, Jacqueline Healey Dunn of Newburgh; his Martina Marie and the love of his life, Michele and her son Christian, who he loved like a son.
A celebration of life will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6 from 3 - 6 PM.
