William Henry Janke, III

August 22, 1966 ~ July 7, 2024

William Henry Janke III, known affectionately as Bill, passed away living his passion on July 7, 2024, at the age of 57. Born on August 22, 1966, in Poughkeepsie, New York, Bill was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His unexpected departure occurred in West Lebanon, NY, leaving a community in mourning and a legacy of warmth, generosity, and passion.

Bill's life was one marked by devotion to his family, his work, and his many interests. He was a proud graduate of Cornwall High School, class of 1984, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Following his education, Bill channeled his energy and entrepreneurial spirit into the establishment of Hunter & Janke Plumbing and Heating, Inc., where he served as Owner and President. His hard work and dedication to his craft earned him respect and admiration within the industry and his local community.

At home, Bill's heart belonged to his cherished wife, Meredith, whom he married on August 27, 1995. Together they raised their son, Gavin, instilling in him the values of hard work and integrity. Bill was a supportive and loving husband and father, always present and involved in every aspect of family life.

Bill was the proud brother of JoAnn, Richard, and Michael. JoAnn and her partner Todd Bonfanti, Richard and his fiancée Michelle, and Michael and his wife Marci, will remember Bill as a guiding force, full of life and laughter. His nieces and nephews, Nina Grace, Evan, Lila, Riley, Jackie, Colin, and Morghain, will miss their uncle's playful spirit and support.

A man of many passions, Bill found joy on the drag racing circuit. His enthusiasm for the sport was not just as a spectator, but as an active participant. He shared this passion with his son, Gavin and wife Meredith, creating a special bond through their shared experiences. Bill was also a proud supporter of the Republican Party, actively engaging in political discussions and advocating for the values he held dear.

His commitment to his community was evident through his involvement with the Knights of Columbus of Most Precious Blood Parish, where he joined forces with his son to contribute to various charitable endeavors. Bill's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his actions and interactions with others.

Bill's presence was a source of strength and joy for his many long-time friends and his racing family. He was a man who could be counted on for a helping hand, witty remarks or a hearty laugh. His generosity of spirit was boundless, and his ability to connect with people was one of his most notable traits.

As we say goodbye to William Henry Janke III, we remember a life lived with purpose and love. Bill's memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to cherish their loved ones, pursue their passions, and give back to their community. His legacy is one of love, friendship, and the indomitable spirit of a life well-lived.

Bill's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his spirit will forever be a beacon of light in their lives.
