William B. Scheppy, 87, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest at home on Friday, November 30, 2018. The son of the late William and Ella (Grunfelder) Scheppy, he was born in Ridgewood, NY on August 27, 1931.
After high school Bill served in the United States Navy, then worked as an Insurance Adjuster for W.A. Volpe Insurance in Newburgh, where he settled down with his beloved wife Marilyn (Freeman) Scheppy. They were married on January 14, 1956 and enjoyed 59 years together.
Bill is survived by his loving children: William T. Scheppy of the Town of Newburgh, Carolyn A. Scheppy of New York City, and Barbara N. Seymour and her husband Chris of the Town of Newburgh; loving daughter-in-law Patti Scheppy; cherished grandchildren: Katelyn Caton and her husband Bill, Christopher Seymour, Amanda Seymour, Stephen Scheppy and Scott Scheppy; and many very dear lifelong friends. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his son Michael T. Scheppy.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bill's nephew John Kellett, and to Robin Badillo, for the love and care they showed for both of our parents.
Services and burial will be private.
