William J. Sullivan
"Bill"
July 30, 1954 - March 30, 2021
Newburgh, NY
William J. Sullivan passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 30, 2021 at St Luke's Hospital. He was 66 years old.
The son of William and Frances Sullivan, he was born July 30, 1954 in Manhattan, NY. He grew up in Inwood and spent much of his early teens boating and water skiing the Harlem River. This led to a life-long passion for boating and being near the water. This passion took him to boating trips through New York canals to Detroit; NY to Florida and back; up & down the Hudson River, Block Island, Newport and more. When the time came to give up boating, he turned to camping. He loved boating, camping, the Jersey Shore, and travels to places sunny and warm. But he especially loved to make people laugh, and always had a good story to do just that.
Bill was a talented carpenter and knowledgeable in many building trades. He worked as an independent contractor doing renovations and repairs and eventually worked for different companies as project and construction manager.
His memory will be cherished forever by his life partner, Joanne Majewski at home; sons William (Billy) Sullivan of Little River, SC; Michael Sullivan of Clearfield, PA; grandchildren Michael and Kaydence Sullivan; aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous friends and his dog Kahlua.
Bill is predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert Sullivan.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday, April 5 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh. Celebration of life Mass will be held Tuesday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 55 Grand Street, Newburgh.
