Alejandro "Alex" Rodriguez

Alejandro "Alex" Rodriguez, 67 of New York, NY passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Bellevue Hospital. He is the son of Maria (Martinez) and the late Fernando Rodriguez. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on October 26, 1954; but was raised in NYC where he spent the remainder of his life.
Alex went to PS 191 and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn. He then attended and graduated from Brooklyn College. Alex was fluent in English, Spanish, French and German, and later received a graduate degree from the University of Berlin.
Alex was the youngest son of Maria and the late Fernando; he was a devoted son, loving brother and caring friend.
Alex is survived by and will be dearly missed by his mother Maria of NYC; sisters Ileana Perez of New Jersey and Fatima Rodriguez of NYC; nieces Arlene (David) Holt of New Jersey and Cristina Rodriguez of NY; great-niece Gabriella Holt of New Jersey; sister-in-law Olga Rodriguez of NY; close and dear friend Mary Anne Saucier of Ohio; as well as many friends and loved ones who will always remember him for his laughter and wit.
In addition to his father, Alex is predeceased by his brother Fernando "Nandy" Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 4 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. Prayers and burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
