We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Franklin Sinatra "Notty" Bennett, 63 of Haverstraw, NY, (formerly of Huger, South Carolina,) on Saturday June 15, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY. Franklin, the eldest son of Sara Bennett Vega, was born January 28, 1956, in Harlem Hospital, NY, NY.Franklin was raised in the home of his loving grandparents, George and Louise (deceased) Snider in South Carolina from the age of 2, along with his sister Suzette, aunts, and uncles Inez, Georgia (deceased,) Albert, Binsberry, and Silvia. After graduating from Cainhoy High School in Huger in 1975, he lived briefly in New Haven CT and in New York City before settling in Haverstraw, NY. He worked as a driver for auto parts and car dealerships for many years, and was most recently employed by Interstate Toyota in Monsey, NY until his death. Franklin, affectionately called "Notty" by all his family and friends in the South, was always a jokester and fun loving person who will be truly missed. We will especially miss that calm, sweet, quick talking voice, and infectious laugh of his. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his first grandchild.Franklin is survived by his mother, Sara of Springfield, MA, grandfather, "Mr." George, aunts and uncles: Inez (Luther) Broughton, Albert (Ann) Snider, Lorraine "Silvia" Deveaux, Binsberry (Vernita) Snider, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins in SC, as well as special cousins, Fred Smalls of Charlotte, NC and Theodore Brown of Baltimore, MD. He is survived by his 5 children: Jesse of Dallas, TX, Emily of Newburgh NY, Lucas of Fort Myers, FL, Franklin and Trevor of Haverstraw, NY, as well as step-daughter Dana of Bronx NY, and his unborn grandchild to Emily. He is survived by siblings, Suzette (Vincent) Pugliese of Bowie, MD, Loughton Bennett of Springfield MA, Jeanette "Janetti" Glenn of New Haven CT, Michael "Chubby" Vega of NC, and Pepe Vega of New Haven CT. He is also survived by the mother of his 2 eldest children and dear friend, Anne, of Newburgh NY, and longtime girlfriend, Lori, of Thiells, NY. Grandmother Louise Snider and aunt Georgia Stevens preceded him in death.
