John C. McCrossen Sr., age 77, entered into rest on January 7, 2022 at NY Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital surrounded by family. John was the son of the late Anna and Daniel McCrossen.
John proudly served his country in the US Navy where he was a Chief Petty Officer, and received many achievement awards and honors. He will be fondly remembered as "Penn" to his grandchildren, and "Mo" to his coworkers.
Survivors include his wife, Kay, whom he married on August 5, 1972 at St. Jerome's in Bronx, NY; his son John McCrossen and wife Dana; daughter Lynn Fish and husband Brian; grandchildren: Sean and Taylor McCrossen and Braeden Fish; his brother Don McCrossen and wife Sue; his in-laws, Carol and Billy Eichorn, Mike McAneney, Jeanine Lent, John McAneney and Kathy McAneney; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Brielle Fish and Brian Fish Jr.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
