Nicholas Alan Potts of North Miami, Florida formerly of Wallkill, NY passed away on July 13 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 27 years old. The son of Alan Roy and Elizabeth Jane (Peckham) Potts, Nick was born on August 16, 1986 in Newburgh, NY. He was a graduate of Wallkill Senior High School, Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, NY and Barry University in Miami, FL. He was a math teacher at Miami Country Day School in Miami, FL. Nicholas was a sweet, friendly and outgoing soul who spent his days trying to help others, better himself and change the world in his own way. Forever in our hearts, free to journey on, We love you Nicholas. Nicholas is survived by his loving parents Alan and Jane at home; his brother Dylan Michael Potts and sister Alison Claire Potts; his grandfather Frederick Marvin Potts Jr and his step-grandmother, Diann Potts; his aunts and uncles: Edie and Mike Peckham, Steve Peckham, Catherine Walden, Fran and Paul Kosko, Annie and Mike Roslin, Geraldine Peckham, Sue and James Jasinski, Robbi and Brian Cleveland, Fred Potts III, Laura Potts-Sprague and Michael Sprague, Greg and Brenda Potts, Perry and Cathy Roy, Sharon Potts, Ed Brown, Charlene Stoll, Harry and Cookie Roy, Albert Roy, John Roy and his cousins: Justine and Cody Brown, Jillian LaRochelle, Travis and Jarrett Sprague, Matt and Riley Roy, Freddy Potts, Christopher and Courtenay Potts, Kelly and Curtis Bryant, Jon and Mike Peckham, Hannah and Emily Walden, Melissa Willis, Gillian and Stephen Peckham, Kelsea and Paul Kosko, Jessie, Jason, David, William and John Roslin, James, Zak and Alex Jasinski, Brittney, Samatha and Daniel Cleveland. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Elizabeth and Richard Peckham and his paternal grandmother, Margaret Potts. Memorial visitation will be held from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday, July 19 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Nicholas' name to the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation, 1761 W Hillsboro Blvd., Ste. 409 Deerfield Beach, FL 33442 or http://keepingthebluesalive.org/. A scholarship in Nicholas' name will also be setup.
